If your Porsche has developed persistent or serious faults, you are protected under UK consumer law and may have the right to reject the vehicle and recover your money. At Stormcatcher Law, we specialise in Porsche rejection claims and have a strong record of achieving positive outcomes for clients across the country. Our legal team understands the unique challenges Porsche owners face and knows how to build a strong case that delivers results.
Specialist Legal Support for Porsche Complaints
Porsche is synonymous with performance, precision, and luxury, but when reliability issues appear, the experience can be frustrating and financially draining. Porsche rejection claims are complex because of the brand’s engineering sophistication, advanced technology, and the high cost of parts and labour.
We regularly handle cases involving recurring mechanical and electronic problems in models such as the Macan, Cayenne, 911, Panamera, and Taycan. These issues often require specialist diagnosis and can result in lengthy repair times or repeated dealership visits.
When the car is financed, matters become even more complicated, as both the dealer and the finance provider share legal responsibility for ensuring the vehicle meets the required standards of quality. Our expert legal team knows how to navigate these layers, ensuring your rights are protected at every stage. We represent clients who have purchased their vehicles from official Porsche Centres or independent dealers, whether bought outright, on PCP, hire purchase, or lease. Whether your Porsche developed issues shortly after purchase or after multiple failed repair attempts, we can help you explore your legal options.
Your Legal Rights and Grounds for Rejection
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, any vehicle sold in the UK must be of satisfactory quality, fit for its intended purpose, and as described by the seller. When you purchase a Porsche, you’re paying for a premium, high-performance vehicle that should deliver exceptional standards of reliability and finish.
If a significant fault appears within the first 30 days of purchase, you have the immediate right to reject a car and receive a full refund. If the fault develops after 30 days but within six months, the law presumes it existed at the time of sale unless the dealer can prove otherwise.
After six months, rejection is still possible, but you then need to show that the fault was present or developing when the car was sold. Faults that seriously affect safety, performance, or value, particularly where repairs have failed or costs are disproportionate, provide solid grounds for rejection.
For vehicles purchased on finance, your claim is made to the finance company, as they are legally the supplier of the goods. If your claim succeeds, the finance agreement will be unwound, requiring the finance provider to refund your deposit and all payments made while you return the vehicle. You also benefit from protection under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, which prohibit misleading or unfair sales practices.

Exceptional Support During the Most Stressful Consumer Dispute I Have Ever Faced There are very few occasions in life when you genuinely feel that someone has stood beside you through a difficult situation and helped you achieve the right outcome. My experience with Philip Harmer and Antonia at Stormcatcher Law was one of those occasions. I approached Stormcatcher after what had already become an exhausting and highly stressful dispute involving a faulty £82,850 motorhome with a Dealer based in Cannock. By that point, I had spent months dealing with repeated faults, unsuccessful repair attempts, cancelled trips, endless correspondence and increasing frustration. What should have been an exciting purchase had turned into one of the most draining experiences I have ever faced as a consumer. From ourfirst conversation, Philip gave me something I had been missing for a very long time: confidence that somebody was actually listening, understood the situation and had a clear plan for how to deal with it. Throughout the dispute, Philip and Antonia were professional, patient, supportive and wonderfully persistent. No matter how many setbacks occurred, they remained calm and focused. When I felt frustrated, they remained measured. When deadlines were missed and arrangements failed, they kept moving the matter forward. When the process became emotionally draining, they gave me confidence that I was not fighting the battle alone. What impressed me most was the balance they struck between legal expertise and genuine human support. I was never made to feel like just another file. The advice was always clear, practical and honest. Expectations were managed properly and communication was excellent throughout. By the time Stormcatcher became involved, the dispute had generated a huge amount of evidence, correspondence and history. Philip took the time to understand every aspect of it and never lost sight of the key objective: achieving the right outcome. After months of resistance, delays, missed commitments and legal arguments, Stormcatcher ultimately secured repayment of the full £82,850 purchase price and brought a dispute that had lasted almost a year to a successful conclusion. The financial result was obviously important, but what meant even more to me was the sense of relief that came from finally bringing the matter to an end. After living with the stress of the dispute for so long, I cannot adequately describe how grateful I was to have someone in my corner who was prepared to keep going until it was resolved. I would like to personally thank Philip Harmer and Antonia at Stormcatcher Law for their hard work, professionalism, patience and determination. If you are facing a difficult consumer dispute and need solicitors who genuinely care about achieving the right outcome for their client, I would recommend Stormcatcher Law without hesitation. I am incredibly grateful for everything they did for me. They helped me bring a very difficult chapter to a close, and that is something I will never forget. Thank you, Philip and Antonia.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had to call for some advice regarding the Consumer Rights Act, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I had the pleasure of speaking with Antonia, who was incredibly kind, patient, and understanding. As a new mum with a serious case of “baby brain,” I wasn’t explaining everything as clearly as I would have liked, but she never made me feel rushed or silly. She took the time to listen, understood my situation completely, and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. It’s rare to come across someone who is not only knowledgeable but also genuinely compassionate. Antonia was an absolute credit to the firm, and her warmth made what was a stressful situation so much easier to navigate. I would highly recommend this firm to anyone looking for professional legal advice with a truly human touch. Thank you again, Antonia!

Common Audi Faults
Our experience in Porsche rejection claims has highlighted several recurring technical issues across different models and generations.
Engine and Performance Issues:
Some Porsche owners report excessive oil consumption, coolant leaks, timing chain tensioner faults, and misfires, particularly on higher-performance engines. Early engine wear and turbocharger failures have also been reported in certain models.
Transmission Problems:
Automatic and PDK dual-clutch transmissions have generated numerous complaints, including hesitation, harsh shifts, gear slippage, and total gearbox failure. These problems can severely affect drivability and may justify rejection where repairs prove unsuccessful.
Electrical and Infotainment Faults:
The PCM (Porsche Communication Management) system is a common source of frustration, with reports of screen freezing, connectivity issues, and software failures. Problems with parking sensors, reversing cameras, and driver assistance systems are also frequent, particularly in newer models.
EV and Hybrid Issues:
In Taycan and hybrid models, battery management faults, charging failures, and range inconsistencies have been widely reported. These issues can significantly undermine vehicle usability and may constitute grounds for rejection.
Other Defects:
Suspension knocks, premature brake wear, air suspension leaks, and interior rattles are also common concerns. Given the premium positioning of Porsche vehicles, even cosmetic defects such as peeling paint or leather quality issues can be relevant to a rejection claim when expectations of quality aren’t met.

How the Process Works
We begin with a comprehensive assessment of your case, reviewing your vehicle details, repair history, and evidence of faults. Once instructed, we’ll issue a formal rejection notice on your behalf, setting out the legal basis for the claim and explaining how the issues breach the Consumer Rights Act.
In some cases, we may arrange an independent inspection by a qualified automotive engineer experienced in Porsche vehicles. This expert evidence can strengthen your case and help resolve disputes quickly.
Many claims are settled through negotiation with the dealer or finance company, but if required, we can escalate your case to the Financial Ombudsman Service (for finance claims) or the County Court for direct dealer disputes.
Supporting documents are typically required, such as your purchase or finance agreement, service history, diagnostic reports, MOT records, repair invoices, photographs or videos of faults, and correspondence with the dealer.
Straightforward claims can be resolved within weeks, while more contested cases may take several months. A successful rejection will typically entitle you to a full refund of the purchase price or all finance payments, including deposit, interest, and fees. You may also recover reasonable costs for repairs, diagnostics, or temporary transport. Where dealers argue for deductions for vehicle use, we robustly challenge excessive amounts, especially when evidence shows the defects were present from the outset.
